One of America’s Top Children’s Hospitals

Cleveland Clinic Children's was top ranked among Northern Ohio children’s hospitals in 10 out of 10 rated specialties in U.S. News & World Report’s 2012-13 edition of America’s Best Children’s Hospitals.

Cleveland Clinic Children's Neurology & Neurosurgery program ranked No. 1 in Ohio for the fifth consecutive year and ranked No. 3 nationally. For the first time our Cleveland Clinic Children’s Gastroenterology program was ranked nationally at No. 9 and continues to be one of the best in Ohio. Overall, Cleveland Clinic Children’s earned national rankings in 10 out of 10 specialties.

About the Rankings

The U.S.News rankings were developed to help patients, families and physicians determine the hospitals who provide the best care for serious or complicated medical conditions or procedures. The rankings recognize the top 50 children’s hospital in 10 medical specialties, determined based on a number of criteria, including:

  • Hospital survival rates
  • Nurse staffing
  • Sub-specialist availability

In addition to the data, pediatric specialists were asked to recommend the hospitals they consider best for children with challenging problems. Eighty hospitals across the country ranked in one or more specialties.
