This is a 2 ½ hour training with an additional 3 hours of individualized consultation at in-home playdates. The workshop will provide parents and professionals with strategies for encouraging play and interaction between young children in the home and/or pre-school settings. At the end of the workshop, participants will understand how to set up and facilitate a successful playdate.
Topics include:
- Best activities to include in a playdate
- How long the playdate and activities should last
- Choosing appropriate peers
- Behavioral methods to facilitate interaction
During the on-site consultation, behavior consultants will assist in implementing the techniques that were learned at the workshop including how to set up playdate routines and encourage appropriate social interactions with peers.
Basic Foundations in Applied Behavior Analysis

This two-day workshop introduces the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Target audience includes classroom teachers, special education teachers, speech/language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, paraprofessionals, principals, counselors, parents and all other personnel who have direct contact with a child with autism.

Advanced Methods in Applied Behavioral Analysis
