Biography
Sonia Islam, BSc, RDMS (AB,Ob/Gyn) is a Registered Ultrasonographer at Cleveland Clinic Canada, supporting the medical diagnostic imaging needs for patients in the Executive Health, Sports Health, and Lifestyle programs. Her ultrasound capabilities include abdominal, superficial structures, gynecological, obstetrical (levels I and II), vascular (carotid, venous), breast, and musculoskeletal sonography, with experience in thyroid biopsy, breast biopsy, and hysterosonogram procedures.
Committed to education, Ms. Islam concurrently graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Radiation Sciences (Ultrasound) from McMaster University and earned an Advanced Diploma in Medical Radiation Sciences from Mohawk College of Applied Arts & Technology. She completed her clinical training in Ontario at St. Joseph’s Hospital, University Health Network, and Mount Sinai Hospitals. Ms. Islam is also an active member of several professional associations and is certified in Abdominal, obstetrical and gynecological sonography.
In her spare time, she likes to read, listen to music and spend time with her family and friends. In addition to English, she is fluent in Bengali, Urdu, and Hindi. She is also a member of Amnesty International.
