Biography
Gail Stewart, RN, a member of our Gastroenterolgy nursing team was awarded the Lifetime Membership by the Canadian Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates. Ms. Stewart’s lengthy nursing experience includes more than a thorough knowledge of the digestive system and its disorders. She has also been a Nursing Research Coordinator at several Toronto health centres, where her management and communication skills made her a valuable member of the health care team.
Ms. Stewart also believes in serving the community. For more than 30 years, she has volunteered with groups including the Girl Guides of Canada, the Friends of Africa and One Parent Families Association, lending her medical expertise by teaching first aid and CPR classes. She has also served as both the vice president for the national organization of the Canadian Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates, and is a former president of the organization’s Toronto chapter.
Born in Toronto, Ms. Stewart received her Nursing Diploma from Orillia Soldier’s Memorial Hospital. Ms. Stewart is also an excellent cook – in fact, she once owned a catering business called Selective Catering!
