Biography
Ali Abbass, MSc, MD, is a Royal College certified anesthesiologist with our Gastroenterology team at Cleveland Clinic Canada. In addition to providing anesthetic care to patients in the Endoscopy unit, Dr. Abbass provides anesthesia coverage across the Greater Toronto Area.
Dr. Abbass received his Bachelor of Sciences degree at the University of Toronto in Cell & Molecular Biology with High Distinction. He pursued his Master of Sciences degree with the University of Toronto and at Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital in affiliation with the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute where his research focused on the FGFR family of tyrosine kinase receptors and their role in pituitary tumorigenesis. Dr. Abbass earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Western Ontario and received his fellowship training in Anesthesia at the University of Toronto.
When he’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Abbass likes to travel with his family. He is an avid motorsports fan and maintains a daily Ashtanga yoga practice. Dr. Abbass is fluent in English, French, Urdu and Punjabi.
