If medication is required we will develop a program that will minimize your overall medication use.

Chronic headaches are a complex interaction of many factors. Our comprehensive Headache Education and Prevention Program is a unique multidisciplinary program designed to improve the lives of headache sufferers.
Over the course of the 24-week program, participants will work together with a headache neurologist, clinical psychologist, dietician, exercise physiologist and a dedicated case manager. Together, they will help you identify the source of your headaches and create prevention and treatment strategies based on your occurrences.
Week 1
- Meet with a headache neurologist
- Meet with a case manager
- Begin filling out weekly headache diaries. This vital information will provide important clues as to triggers, effective prevention and treatment strategies.
Week 2-4
- Meet with a clinical psychologist
- Meet with a registered dietician
- Meet with an exercise physiologist
Week 5 – 12
- You will have biweekly telephone contact with your case manager to discuss your progress and facilitate any concerns you may have to your clinical team.
Week 12
- Follow up with your headache neurologist to discuss your progress and potential changes in your treatment plan, including adding or adjusting medications.
- Follow up with your clinical psychologist to review your success and discuss your next steps.
- Follow up with your dietician to review your diet record and discuss strategies to continue improving nutritional intake with respect to both headache and weight management.
- Follow up in-person meeting with your case manager to review your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
Week 12-24
- You will have monthly contact with your case manager as your treatment plan enters a self-directed phase.
Week 24
- Final visit with your headache neurologist to discuss your progress over the last six months, review specific treatment outcomes and discuss the plans for headache management.
