Newsletter: Winter Issue 2010
‘Tis the season to reflect upon another year coming to a close.
As clinicians, we are proud that more people than ever before are taking charge of their health. We know that the best way to fight disease is to prevent it, so we applaud everyone who has taken steps to lower their cholesterol, improve their diet, increase physical activity and decrease stress in their day-to-day lives. All of these small steps will truly impact one’s overall health and well-being.
As a valued partner in the Canadian healthcare community, we continue to collaborate with hospitals, healthcare professionals and not-for-profit healthcare organizations. In 2010, Cleveland Clinic Canada supported numerous charitable organizations, accepted a position on the board of the Heart and Stroke Foundation and began collaborating with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
As a global health system, we continue to fund research, cultivate innovation and share best practices so that we can not only improve the patient experience but change the future of healthcare. In 2010, our first-of-its-kind breast cancer vaccine showed overwhelmingly favourable results in animal testing. This vaccine prototype offers an entirely new approach in the fight against cancer.
Thank you for your continued support and for trusting us with your health in 2010. The Cleveland Clinic family would like to wish you and your loved ones a happy and healthy 2011!
