Cardiothoracic Anesthesia Fellowship

Ten 1-year and five 2-year positions are currently available.

  • The fellow will gain in-depth experience in echocardiography, anesthesia for congenital heart surgery, thoracic anesthesia, intensive care and anesthesia for adult cardiac surgery.
  • Pursue research in our Department of Outcomes Research.
  • A full spectrum of clinical care includes anesthesia for valve repair, aneurysm resection, ventricular remodeling, arrhythmia focus ablation and ventricular assist devices. Experience with complex neonatal and infant heart procedures, including hypothermic circulatory arrest is a strength of this fellowship.
  • Each fellow will be guided to create at least one unique research project and will be expected to achieve one abstract presentation and pursue publication of a manuscript.
  • Certification in Transesophageal Echocardiology is possible.
