What is it and why should I take it?
myHIVrisk™ is an online HIV risk assessment survey that was developed by AGAPE and Cleveland Clinic to help you understand what factors may be personally putting you at risk for getting the HIV infection.
The survey consists of 15 yes/no and multiple-choice questions that should take no more than 5 to 10 minutes to answer. The computer then gathers your answers and presents you with an explanation of what behaviors or factors, if any, are putting you at risk for getting HIV. Just as importantly, the assessment will also explain what you can do to avoid getting HIV in the future. This personalized evaluation can be printed out to review later or to take with you to your doctor's office or other HIV testing site. We also provide a link to information where you can go to get tested for HIV.
Please remember that medical information provided by Cleveland Clinic, in the absence of a visit with a health care professional, must be considered as an educational service only. We will do our best to provide you with information that will help you make your own health care decisions. The information provided online through the myHIVrisk™ Assessment Survey should not be relied upon as a medical consultation. This mechanism is designed to provide you with risk factors; it is not designed to replace an HIV screening test. The only way to determine whether you are infected is to be tested for HIV.
Regardless of the outcome of the myHIVrisk™ Assessment Survey, if you believe you are at risk for HIV, you should consult with a health care professional.
